How can i print b/w with a Canon PIXMA iP4500 Printer?

Question by sheik yerbouti: How can i print b/w with a Canon PIXMA iP4500 Printer?
I want to print a black and white document with this broke-a** Canon printer.

It keeps telling me, it can not print the page, due to the fact the magenta cartridge is empty. I don’t want to purchase a new magenta cartridge simply because the magenta printing head is dead anyway.

I just like to print some thing black & white with the black ink cartridge.

If it uses chipped cartridges, you may require to replace the empty one particular. Period.

I was poking around in my Canon MP 190. Doubt this will work but I figure you have nothing to lose. Make sure grayscale printing is not selected and go to the maintenance tab, click on ink cartridge settings. Pick black only. I just bought mine. have not had the time to play with it. Hope this helps. Doubt it will. Sorry. Good Luck.
